It is with deep profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Charles Stein (31), who passed away peacefully at his home in Rome, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Charles, a diesel mechanic and type 1 Diabetic. He was loved by everyone who met him. He maintained lifelong friendships and was deeply devoted to his family, remaining especially close to his parents and sisters. He was a cherished uncle, dearly loved by his niece and many nephews. The gaping hole his passing leaves in our hearts is immeasurable.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Richelle; his 7-year-old stepson, Derek; and his (firstborn) son, “JJ,” who is expected to arrive the first week of this April 2026. He is also survived by his parents, Walter and Sheila Stein (NY); siblings Jennifer Stein (TN), Allison (Brian) Shipp (KY), Julie Stein (NY), and Ashley Lee; niece Ana Grismore and Josie Shipp; and nephews Lukas Betser, Landon Colton, Tanner Colton, Chase Colton, Logan Grismore, Jacob Shipp, Elijah Shipp, Jaxson Shipp.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Stein, and his grandparents, Phyllis and Jimmy Mattingly.
Charles will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, humor but mostly for the love he had for his family and friends. He will be forever loved and deeply missed.
