Carl Larsen, of Athens Township, PA passed away on July 30 th at the age of 92.
Born at home in Frenchtown, NJ in 1931. He attended school in Everittstown, graduating the
eighth grade. He worked on a local farm and then moved to take a job in Perth Amboy NJ. In
January 1952, he was drafted in the US Army, attended booth camp at Schofield Barracks in
Honolulu, Hawaii, and served as a corporal in Korea. After his honorable discharge he took a job
as a mechanic at White Buick in Flemington, NJ. He met and married Shirley Ann Messinger of
Annandale, NJ in 1956. Their first home was in Whitehouse Station before the couple purchased
a home in Clinton Township, NJ. At that time Carl was employed as a metal fitter at B. Nolte &
Sons in Whitehouse, NJ. Carl retired from Whitehouse Machine in 1996. Like his Viking
forefathers, Carl enjoyed outdoor activities, such as hunting, fishing, gardening, wine making
and camping with friends and family. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley in 1997. Carl was
the beloved father of his surviving daughter, Karen Larsen. A farewell gathering to celebrate his
life will be held at a later date.
