Beverly "Bev" J. (Timm) Coy

Beverly “Bev” Jane Coy, 81, of Athens, PA, peacefully passed away at home with her family by her side on Friday, December 27, 2024 after a brief illness.

She was born on November 25, 1943, in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Elliott Tracey and Doris Isabell (Pond) Timm.

Bev loved her family dearly and they always came first with her. She enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. They were her heart and it was important to her that they knew how much she loved them. After the death of her son, Matthew, she raised his children, Tyler Coy, Eve, Emily, and Jasmine Martin as her own.

She was very involved with the Athens Township Fire Company and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. Bev could be seen working Bingo for many years every Tuesday at the fire hall and was always willing to help do anything that the company needed. Bev enjoyed crocheting and crafting. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Crossroads Family Ministries

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband; Neil Theodore Coy, Sr., her son; Matthew Coy, and her brothers; William Oscar Timm and Elliott Tracey Timm, Jr.

Bev is survived by her daughter; Teresa Smith, sons and daughters-in-law; Daniel and Cindy Howard, Michael and Amy Howard, Neil, Jr. and Amy Coy, daughter and son-in-law; Crystal and Jason Ricard, daughter; Lisa Jordan, daughter-in-law; Heather Coy Masters, 28 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, her sister; Barbara Ann Bailey, beloved neighbor; Ron Baker, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 1pm to 3pm at the Athens Township Fire Hall. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the Fire Hall at 3pm. The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
