Alexander J. Zdon

Alexander J. Zdon, age 17, of Ulster, even though his wings were ready, our hearts were not for him to leave us unexpectedly on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Hershey Medical Center.  Although he beat cancer, he was called to now become our ever present, unconditional love in Heaven, as he was here in his time on Earth.

He was born August 15, 2006 in Sayre, PA, son of Joel and Carrie (Porter) Zdon.

Alexander was an 11th grade student at Athens Area High School.  He loved watching movies on his I-Pad and DVD player, especially Diego and Dora.  Alexander was a lover of all animals and had an extensive collection of stuffed and figurine animals with his favorite being Benji the Bengal Tiger.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and participating in various activities such as bike riding, swinging on his swing, riding his Polaris Ranger, swimming in his swimming pool, hanging around campfires and going for car rides.

He is predeceased by his grandparents Dale Porter, Cathy Zdon, and his beloved dogs, Charley and Cooper.

Alexander is survived by his parents, Joel and Carrie (Porter) Zdon; his grandparents, Linda Porter, Joel Zdon, Sr., and Shirley and Mike Bride; brother Anthony Zdon; aunts and uncles, Corinne and Chris McConnell, Tony Zdon, Rana and Don Pfeil, Frank Bride, and Mikie and Tana Bride; also survived by numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

Alexander was a fun-loving kid who made an instant impact on anyone who met him and will be missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 225 S. Main Street, Athens, PA, where services will be held at 5:00 pm with Brian Heffron as the celebrant. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Kids Can’t Fight Cancer Alone, 784 Canton Street, Troy, PA 16947.
