Rickey E. Dieter, 70, of Hornell, NY, passed away surrounded by his kids on Monday, November 8, 2021, Elderwood at Waverly.

He was born on October 12, 1951, in Hornell, NY, to the late William and Hazel (Dyke) Dieter.

Rickey served in the US Army, during the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed farming and watching his Yankees and Bills. Rickey loved bowling and sipping a few toddies with his friends and dancing with their wives.

He is predeceased by 3 brothers James, William, and Gordy, 6 sisters June Dennis, Flora “Toots” Cook, Sharon Kelly, Linda Dickson, Bonnie Guiles, and Vickie Stoddard.

Rickey is survived by his 2 daughters Tina (Ed) Rorick and Teresa Silvernail of Van Etten, NY, 3 sons Rickey (Julie) Dieter of Harrisburg, NC, Robert (Andrea) Dieter of Alfred Station, NY, and Ryan Dieter of Hornell, NY, grandkids and great grandkids Tiffanie, Quade, Quin (Emily), Montana, Ethan, Rylee, Jayden, Sylas, Brayden, Wyatt, Kaylee, Harley, Jacob, Adalyn, Alivia, and Amelia, who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his 2 brothers Ted (Jean) of Cameron, NY, and Dwight (Chris) of Belle Haven, NY, 2 sisters Louise Davis of Savona, NY, and Cookie (Melvin) Curren of Lima, NY, 2 brothers-in-law Richard Cook of Addison, NY, and Philip Guiles of Groveland, NY, sister-in-law Marilyn Hicks of FL, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future date. The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.

Memorial donations may be made in Rickey’s name to the: Hornell Little League Association, PO Box 374, Hornell, NY 14843.
