Gordon "Gordy" Tyrrell Obituary

Gordon R. "Gordy" Tyrrell, 92, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Bradford County Manor.

He was born in Nichols, NY, on March 2, 1929, to the late Roy and Elizabeth (Ball) Tyrrell.

Gordon was a Veteran of the US Army. He was employed with the Ajax Foundry, prior to retiring. He enjoyed reading western books. Gordon loved to dance and play Bingo.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife of over 30 years (Eileen (Hill) Tyrrell, daughter Wilma K. Chilson, son-in-law Donald Chilson, sister Celia Tyrrell, brother Arthur Tyrrell, and brother-in-law Herb Cornelius.

Gordon is survived by his sons Gordon Tyrrell of Sayre, PA, Roy Tyrrell of MD, and Jerry Tyrrell of CA, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister Onalee Cornelius, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Gordon’s request, there will be no services. The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.

Burial will be in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the family’s convenience.
