Obituary

Gerald L. “Jerry” Phillips, 85, of Sayre, PA, formerly of Ridgebury Twp. passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Robert Packer Hospital with his family by his side.

 He was born on February 15, 1937, in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Benjamin R. and Lucille Sink Phillips.

 Jerry was a member of Fassett Baptist Church and a Trustee of the church as well.  He was a former Ridgebury Township Supervisor.  Jerry was a former grave digger and trustee at Hanlon Hills Cemetery.

 He is predeceased by his wife Eleanor Wilcox Phillips, infant son Douglas Phillips, daughter-in-law Karen Phillips, granddaughter Renee Phillips.

 Jerry is survived by his children Virginia “Ginger” (Bob) Grappone of Crestview, FL, Michael Phillips of Kingsport, TN, Ronald (Joan) Phillips of Fair Oaks, CA, Richard (Donna) Phillips of Dover, DE, Dawn Tillinghast of Sayre, Scott (Maureen Smith) Phillips of Ridgebury Twp, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brother Jeffrey Blose of South Bend, IN, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Hanlon Hills Cemetery. The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
