Charles John Whitmarsh

Charles John Whitmarsh, 76, of Chemung, NY, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 22, 2020.

He was born on August 2, 1943 in Waverly, NY, the son of the late C. Richard and Mid (Mullen) Whitmarsh.

Charles was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. He loved his farm and his animals.

He is predeceased by his wife of over 40 years, Jeannette (Palmer) Whitmarsh and son Thomas J. Whitmarsh.

Charles is survived by his wife, Sharon (Parker) Whitmarsh, children, Karen and Jerry Gentile of Spencer, NY, Tonia and James Ebel of Newfield, NY, Michael and Josh Whitmarsh of Candor, NY, and John Bezdany, who was like a son to him, of Elmira, NY, 10 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Cynthia Whitmarsh of Ida, MI and Robert and Carrie Whitmarsh of Oswego, NY, mother-in-law, Gladys Palmer of Endicott, NY, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Bradford County Memorial Park, 20452 Rt. 6, Towanda, PA. The family is being assisted by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.

Burial will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park, Towanda, PA.
