Pre-Need also known asPre-Arrangements: preparing ahead of time for the inevitable. Get your thoughts and wishes on paper so your loved ones do not have to guess when the time comes.
Each year, millions of families are forced by the death of a loved one to make one of their largest single purchases and toughest decisions. This is usually done under severe pressures of limited time, emotional distress, and lack of experience or information. Due to this, more and more families are pre-planning their funerals. The number of pre-funded and pre-planned funerals arranged in the United States have almost doubled over past six years.
This is why The Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, Inc. offers free advance funeral planning. We recognize that sometimes it is impossible to rely on family members or others to make the necessary decisions. Some people have specific ideas about funeral services and want to ensure that their families are informed and involved in those decisions.
Pre-paying the pre-arranged funeral can ease possible financial pressures on family members or loved ones. Pre-funding allows you to pay for the funeral service at current prices. As the burial fund increases in value over time, it offsets our economy's inflation and should provide adequate funds for the future cost of the funeral at the time of need.
PRE-PLANNING with Lowery's offers many advantages:
•
First, it offers you peace of mind by knowing you have provided for your final expense.
•
Second, you are introduced in a calm, logical manner to all vital considerations.
•
By gathering the facts in a non-emotional way, you are able to safeguard your personal interest and feel confident that your personal wishes will be known and honored.
•
Simply stated, pre-planning now will spare your family from two of life's most difficult burdens-determining your personal wishes and paying for them.
•
Your funds are secure. Lowery's is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Funeral Directors to accept funds and insurance in advance of need as a means to pre fund final arrangements.
How Is The Funeral Cost Funded?
We offer many funding options to meet your individual needs.
•
Funds can be placed in trust accounts to guard against inflation.
•
Different payments plans are offered to fit your budget, and a convenient monthly payment plan is available if preferred.
•
Because funds have been planned for in advance, you eliminate the burden of how your funeral expenses will be paid.
•
Pre-planning is truly an act of love, and because you care, your family will receive a wonderful gift, peace of mind.
•
We honor coverage you may have from any Mutual Burial Association, insurance, or trust funds with other funeral homes.
With Lowery's Pre-Need Plan, It's All Taken Care Of.
When a death occurs, many decisions have to be made for a funeral. And they're all part of a seemingly endless number of things that need attention. Rather than leaving these decisions to your family, you can take care of them ahead of time with Lowery's Pre-Need Plan. Then, when the time comes, a single call to the funeral home should be all that's needed. The kinds of decisions you will have to make fall into two general categories: the services of Lowery's Funeral Home and funeral merchandise which can be finalized in a short meeting at the funeral home at that time.
A funeral usually includes:
•
Professional services
•
Transportation services
•
Burial preparation
•
Facilities for visitation
•
The funeral ceremony
•
Other services and associated items (i.e. flowers, etc)
Included in funeral merchandise or cash advancements are:
•
A casket
•
An outer burial container
•
Cremation containers and urns
•
Other associated items (i.e. flowers, etc)
Cemetery arrangements should be discussed well in advance, too.

There is vital statistical information that is needed to complete a death certificate. If you wish, fill out the following and submit it to us to put on file. You may also wish to put monies aside for this need. Many people are forced to liquidate their assets at the time of Nursing Home admittance. Why wait for that to happen. Put your money away safely in an irrevocable burial reserve. No one can touch that money except the funeral home at the time of death with a certified copy of the death certificate presented to the bank.
Please contact us if you wish to put monies in a burial reserve.
All funeral homes are not alike:
The price of a funeral may be several hundred dollars less at your local, family-owned funeral home than you will find anywhere else. That's why we at Lowery Funeral Home suggest that you investigate before the need arises. Then you can make an informed decision. Ask one of our funeral directors to explain all of the options to you. There is no obligation.
